The Westminster team completed locally against teams from the University of Utah, which was runner-up, Brigham Young University and Utah State University.
The four-member Westminster team, consisting of Angelique Pappas, Daniel O’Hare, Lauren Seidelman and Matthew Hardy, will advance to the Americas Regional Finale that is scheduled for April 10 in New York City.
There they will compete against other winning teams from across the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Chartered Financial Analyst Chris Neddo, who served as the research challenge director for the CFA Society of Utah, said the contest provides an opportunity for students to engage in the analysis of a public company’s stock.
"Students gain real-world experience in analysis and valuation, and learn to formulate an investment recommendation, all while being mentored, graded and judged by industry professionals."
