Wow! So the fools on the Hill now want prospective brides and grooms to take a pre-nuptial class before wading into the quagmire of marriage ("Go to class, get married cheaper," Tribune, Feb. 18).
Not entirely a bad idea, and it’s good to know that these neophytes will be taught the intricacies of financial health, getting along, and the like. But why did the proponents of House Bill 132 fail to recognize an absolutely golden opportunity to finally inject into Utah’s young adults some knowledge of birth control and the various methods of contraception — knowledge that they were denied when they were teens in Utah’s public schools?

The newlyweds would be in a much better position to correlate the size of their family with their income expectations, thereby avoiding the angst of financial pressures that afflict so many marriages today.
Get a grip, folks!
