All-powerful church

I found Allen Canfield’s letter ironic ("Un-Christian acts," Forum, Feb. 7). He complains that Mormon legislators who do not follow the endorsement by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of anti-discrimination laws are un-Christian.

What is so ironic about this letter is how it contrasts with the complaint we usually read in this newspaper: that Utah’s Mormon legislators are too heavily influenced by the all-powerful LDS Church.

Maybe Canfield’s real complaint is that someone happens to disagree with him, and therefore, in his opinion, they are not Christian enough.
