My 9-year-old granddaughter is a figure skater. When I learned that Stars on Ice was coming to Salt Lake City on Feb. 18, I purchased non-refundable tickets to take the family. For any person learning a sport or skill there is nothing that compares to seeing a champion perform up close and personal.
Now, I read that it has become a campaign stop for Mitt Romney, who will be speaking at the event when he joins former Salt Lake Olympians in "A Tribute to Salt Lake 2002." I am extremely disappointed. I paid for entertainment, not a political appearance.

Romney was integral to the Salt Lake Winter Olympics; however, today he is a partisan candidate for public office. His appearance is inappropriate and should be canceled.
It is not possible for me to now tell my granddaughter that we are not going; she would be heartbroken. However, I feel that I have been deceived because this appearance was not made known when tickets went on sale.
