Mitt Romney has won the Republican races in both Iowa and now New Hampshire ("Mitt by a mile," Tribune, Jan.11).

Last year, when he was beginning his campaign, he was hugely targeted for his Mormon beliefs. He was ridiculed and ridiculed, especially by evangelical Christians who would like to somehow own the term "Christian" and thereby boot Mormons out of the group.

However, despite the large population of evangelicals in Iowa, Romney was able to win the caucus there. This challenges whether the fact that Romney is a Latter-day Saint is really a large problem to the major percentage of voters, or just a "flaw" that the evangelicals tried to find in this man's armor.

Mitt Romney is not a bad man. He is the best option for this nation's next president.
