A 3-year-old southwestern Utah girl died Wednesday after being backed over by a pickup truck outside her home.

Washington County public safety dispatchers confirmed the 911 call reporting the accident came in at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday from a home near 1200 South in Ivins, a town about 10 miles northwest of St. George.

The girl, reportedly riding a tricycle, was struck as her father was pulling out of the driveway.

She was rushed to Dixie Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, said Ivins police Officer Chad Holt.
