Sheriff's officials were investigating the shooting death Tuesday of a man in Hyrum.

Cache County sheriff's officials told KUTV 2News that the shooting occurred at 4:20 p.m.

"Our 911 center in Logan got a call from some individuals inside a home, said there had been a disturbance," Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Peterson told KUTV, media partner to The Salt Lake Tribune.

When deputies arrived at the home at 84 N. 600 East, they found one man dead. The man had been shot with a handgun, KUTV reported. No one else was hurt.

"We do know that an argument had ensued between the two male individuals," Peterson told KUTV. "We don't know at this point in time what that argument was over."

Deputies took the victim's brother-in-law in for questioning along with two witnesses, KUTV reported.

Sheriff's investigators told KUTV they planned to work throught the night investigating the scene.
