Spanish Fork police arrested three suspects in a weekend drug deal that turned into an armed robbery.
Police Lt. Matthew Johnson said that officers responded to a 911 call about 8:45 p.m. Sunday, near 600 N. 900 East, where three armed men allegedly robbed another man of an unspecified amount of cash.
Officers located and pulled over the suspect vehicle. The three suspects were taken into custody, along with a .380-caliber handgun and two airsoft pistols. Also confiscated was a quarter-pound bag of marijuana.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the 911 caller also was the victim, who acknowledged he had met with the suspects to sell them the marijuana, only to be robbed at gunpoint.
The suspects, Ephraim residents ages 25, 19 and 19, were booked into the Utah County jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery, along with several drug-related counts.
The victim, a Springville man, was not arrested but likely will be screened for drug-related charges as well, Johnson said on Monday.
