Salt Lake City police say a man handed a note to a pharmacist claiming he was armed and would open fire "in 30 seconds" — unless he got Oxycontin.

When the Walgreens' druggist at 909 E. 2100 South turned over the prescription painkiller about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the gunman had one more demand: he wanted his note back.

Police say the robber — described as a black man, 18-22 years old, 5-foot-9 and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans, gloves and a medical mask — fled into the night.

Police Detective Cody Lougy said Monday that Sunday's holdup was not thought to be connected to two other Walgreens robberies over the weekend, one in Salt Lake City and one in Logan.

Loughy said the robbers in the other holdups did not match the height or racial descriptions given by witnesses.
