Murray • Before Kayelynn Louder disappeared Sept. 27 from her Murray condo, she could be seen on surveillance footage talking excitedly to herself, police said. She had begun calling 911 to report emergencies that apparently didn't occur, and she left her home barefoot, without her phone or car, and with no report to anyone as to where she was going.

Now investigators fear Louder, 30, is suffering from a mental illness that could leave her unable to seek help if she needs it.

"We're really concerned ... she may be in a troubled state of mind and is possibly delusional," said Murray police spokesman Kenny Bass.

Louder, who was "stressed" about some work-related news, first called 911 on the night of Sept. 26 to report a fight between gun-wielding assailants at the clubhouse of her condo complex, near 500 East and 5600 South, Bass said. Police arrived to find a party happily celebrating a wedding. After officers left, Louder again called 911 and hung up after a "confused" conversation with dispatchers, Bass said.

The next morning, Louder again called 911 to report burglars were in her home. Louder's roommate awoke to hear Louder making the report to dispatchers and tried unsuccessfully to convince her no one was in the condo, Bass said.

That afternoon, a security camera captured Louder standing outside the condo with her dog. She was engaged in "animated conversation" but no one else appeared to be there, Bass said. Two hours later, she appeared on footage to be walking away barefoot, wearing only a tank top and shorts, Bass said.

Investigators are unaware of any history of mental illness, he said. A search of the condo complex and surrounding neighborhood, including a nearby creek, offered no clues.

A flier about Louder's disappearance, which has been widely distributed on social media, describes her as white, with brown hair and brown eyes. She's about 5-foot-8, according to the poster. Anyone with information may call police at 801-840-4000.
