A motorcyclist died Saturday after crashing into the back of a car in Magna.

The man was not immediately identified.

About 6:40 p.m. , the car and the motorcyclist were traveling west on State Route 201. For some reason, the car began slowing down, and the motorcyclist crashed into the back near 9200 West, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Evan Kirby.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, Kirby said.

No one in the car was hurt, the trooper added. The crash remains under investigation.
