The American Red Cross is asking for financial donations to help Utahns who have been affected by recent flash floods.

Flash flooding due to rain has affected 64 Utah homes in the past few days, according to the Red Cross Utah region, with the hardest hit area being in Carbon County with 54 damaged homes. The remaining 10 homes are located in Washington County.

The cost to provide shelter and resources for the affected families will exceed original estimates, according to a press release issued Friday, and the American Red Cross is now asking the public to donate to their disaster relief fund.

A donation can be made by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by mail: American Red Cross Utah Region, 555 East 300 South, Suite 200, Salt Lake City, UT. 84102
