Provo police believe they've identified the suspect who allegedly hit a skateboarder and drove off.

The investigation is ongoing and officers have not arrested the suspect yet, but they anticipate filing charges in the coming days, according to a police news release.

They received a tip about the suspect on Thursday, a day after asking for the public's help in the hit-and-run crash.

The skateboarder, Tyler Bullock, 22, was riding near 2000 N. 550 West on Tuesday evening when a vehicle hit him, according to police. The vehicle stopped momentarily, then drove away, witnesses told police.

Though Bullock was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition, he is expected to survive, police officer Brian Taylor said Thursday.
