Runners and walkers honored the memory and life of Maddy Jackson on Saturday in Liberty Park at the 4th Annual Maddy's Run, which raised money for the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) Foundation and the Disability Law Center.

"Maddy's Run has been a wonderful opportunity for us to honor not only Maddy, but all kids with CdLS and special needs," says J. Hunter Jackson, Maddy's older brother.  "We're forever grateful to those that have supported us, and cannot wait for another successful year. Thank you."

Maddy Jackson, who was born with CdLS, passed away in August 2010 at the age of 18. CdLS affects 1 in 10,000 births with medical problems that include bowel obstruction, hearing loss and congenital heart defects.

Last year's run raised $28,000.
