Utah Transit Authority is beefing up rail and bus services for fans commuting to and from Brigham Young University football games for the remainder of this season.

Beginning with this Friday's Utah State-BYU game at Provo's LaVell Edwards Stadium, UTA will add an extra northbound FrontRunner train to its regular service schedule. The new train will wait for fans leaving the game to assure that those who arrived by FrontRunner will be able to return home.

UTA spokesman Remi Barron said that the added train won't take off until the last bus from the stadium shuttles fans to the Provo FrontRunner Station.

Two hours prior to the 8:15 p.m. game, UTA also will run extra Route 830 buses, staging on the east side of the Provo FrontRunner Station's bus loop, to the stadium.

For up to half an hour after the game, extra buses will be staged on Canyon Road near the stadium to take fans back to FrontRunner.

Barron said UTA also plans to offer extra Route 830 buses for future, Saturday BYU games. Those coaches will run from the Provo FrontRunner Station and the Timpanogos Transit Center beginning two hours before kickoff.

However, FrontRunner trains generally will run on normal schedules for those future Saturday games, though an extra train will be added for evening games, as needed.
