Free health screenings for older adults will be provided Thursday and Friday at the Utah Senior Expo at South Towne Exposition Center, 9575 S. State Street, in Sandy.

Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services organized the Expo, which runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. This year's theme is "Staying Fit, Staying Healthy In Your Community."

More than 175 exhibitors will be promoting products and services, including fraud prevention, legal assistance, volunteer opportunities, Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, emergency planning, home care, hospitals, physical fitness, hospice care, financial planning and health insurance.

Various activities for kids are scheduled for Friday, which will be "Grandchildren's Day" at the Expo, while Salt Lake County Council members Max Burdick and Aimee Winder-Newton will present awards Thursday to individuals, companies and organizations that improve residents' quality of life.
