A semi-tanker truck driver, reportedly trying to avoid hitting a deer, overturned early Monday morning on US-6, about 20 miles east of Spanish Fork.

The Utah Highway Patrol said the westbound big rig toppled after it slammed into a concrete barrier wall about 3:30 a.m. The driver escaped with minor injuries, but the accident completely closed down the highway for nearly three hours.

As of 6 a.m., traffic flow was restored to one lane, with eastbound and westbound motorists taking turns getting through the area of mile post 202. About two hours later, crews had vented the tanker's load of carbon dioxide and righted the big rig, allowing all lanes to reopen.
