A British motorcyclist who died Wednesday when he collided head-on with a pickup while traveling on the wrong side of a Wasatch County road has been identified.

The victim was David Morgan, 61, of Cheshire, England, who was vacationing in Utah, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Morgan was one of two motorcyclists from England who turned west onto State Road 35 near Wolf Creek Pass about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

They both turned into the eastbound lane, where a Ford F-250 was traveling toward them, troopers said.

The first motorcyclist swerved out of the way, but Morgan collided with the truck. The motorcyclist and the truck went down a steep, 100-foot embankment, troopers said.

Morgan died at the scene; the driver of the truck suffered serious injuries and was flown to a hospital.
