Police were hunting for two violent, if inept strong-arm robbery suspects who plagued west Salt Lake City early Wednesday morning.

The knife-wielding suspects — described as two Latino men in their late teens to early 20s, one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, red hat and blue jeans; the other clad in a dark shirt and black cap — are believed to have been involved in three overnight attacks.

Police say the two punched and cut an 18-year-old man on the face during a 12:40 a.m. assault at 525 W. 200 South. That was followed 20 minutes later by an incident at 75 N. 600 West where the two allegedly jumped on a car, breaking its windshield and then slashing the driver on the ear during an attempted, but unsuccessful robbery.

The two also are sought in another attack, at 1:05 a.m., one on a 39-year-old homeless man at 190 S. 500 West. He was hospitalized for a deep cut on the arm suffered during a struggle before the pair fled.

Anyone with information on these suspects is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000, or anonymously text the keyword TIPSLCPD to 274637.
