A blaze that caused an estimated $500,000 in damage at the Weber County Fairgrounds remains under investigation, though it is believed to have been accidental.
Weber Fire District Fire Marshal Brandon Thueson said district and Ogden City Fire Department crews rushed to the fairgrounds, at 1000 N. 1200 West in Ogden, just before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
About 15 firefighters were able to douse the flames before midnight and contained the blaze to a storage building that housed a variety of fairgrounds gear, vehicles and other equipment.
Brandon said Wednesday that the fire was believed to have started in a "utility-type" all-terrain vehicle.
"The building was used to store yard maintenance equipment such as tractors, large mowers, ATVs and various hand power tools," he added. "Not all was lost, but some expensive equipment was damaged."
No injuries were reported.
