An Ogden woman died Saturday night after her pickup truck veered off Interstate 15 several miles south of Willard and rolled into the opposite lanes.

About 11:30 p.m., Sara Clow, 29, was driving a red Chevrolet Silverado north on I-15 when witnesses say she swerved to the left, according to a Utah Highway Patrol news release. The pickup truck slid into the dirt median between mile posts 354 and 355, then rolled over the top of the cable barrier, landed on its roof and slid across both southbound lanes before stopping in the right emergency lane.

Clow, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the pickup and wound up in the one of the southbound lanes. Traffic was blocked to prevent her from getting hit by other cars.

She was taken to Brigham City Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after she arrived, according to UHP. Troopers are still investigating the crash, and have found indications that Clow might have been impaired due to prescription medications, according to the news release.

The southbound lanes were shut down at exit 357, near Willard, and traffic was diverted onto State Road 89 for about two hours while troopers investigated the crash.

"On scene investigators feel the driver may have survived had she been wearing her seat belt," the UHP release reads. "UHP reminds all drivers that, when used correctly, seat belts reduce the risk of injury and death by about 70 [percent]. Please, buckle up and arrive alive."
