Authorities are looking for suspects in the kidnapping this week of two teenage girls, who escaped after being held for 19 hours.

The girls, ages 16 and 17, flagged down a vehicle on Main Street in Santaquin at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday and borrowed a cell phone to call 911, a news release by the Bountiful Police Department says. The teens said two men had abducted them in Bountiful at 2 a.m. that day and restrained them in a red SUV, which was driven by a blond woman.

Hours later, one of the girls managed to get out of her restraints and helped the other teen escape, the release says. The two said they ran from the SUV and tried to flag down a motorist; several passed them but one stopped, according to the teens.

Police said the girls had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

The suspects are described as a 20- to 25-year-old white man who is slender and medium height with light brown hair and a tattoo on his left arm; a tall 30- to 35-year-old white man with a medium build and dark brown hair; and a 25- to 35-year-old heavyset white woman of medium height with long, blond hair. The make and model of the SUV are unknown.

Bountiful police are requesting anyone with information — including drivers who saw the girls in Santaquin before they contacted authorities — to call them at 801-298-6000.
