A 17-year-old girl was in critical but improving condition Thursday, the day after her car collided with a pickup truck in West Jordan.

The teen was driving a compact car north on Grizzly Way when her car was broadsided by the pickup, which was eastbound on 9000 South.

West Jordan police Sgt. Dan Roberts said the girl was rushed by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Salt Lake City in extremely critical condition, but was reported to have been stabalized on Thursday.

The driver of the pickup was in serious condition at Jordan Valley Hospital.
