Seeing Utah's floodwaters recede and storm clouds flee the midweek sunshine, Emily Brontë might have observed that "from the midst of cheerless gloom, I passed to bright unclouded day."
Rising from her 19th century writing desk, Emily might have asked equally literate sisters Charlotte and Anne to take a stroll along the Wasatch Front, where clear, sunny skies and balmy daytime temperatures in the mid-70s were forecast both Wednesday and Thursday.
Parasols and sunscreen lotion might be advised for the Yorkshire siblings if they headed to southern Utah. Visiting Utah's Dixie would bring more clear, sunny skies along with high temperatures ranging into the low-90s.
However, the Utah Division of Air Quality forecast of "green," or healthy conditions for the entire state into the weekend might convince Emily to linger, "to rest, and draw in a few more breaths of the soft, sweet air."
Indeed, even the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website cooperates in a near-perfect outlook for outdoors activities. While ragweed and mold were at "moderate" levels on the pollen index Wednesday, all other allergens were "low."
