Two women died Saturday when they were ejected in a rollover accident in Santaquin.
The Utah Highway Patrol identified the women as Diana Manzo, 25, of Mapleton, and Sabrina Rasmussen, 21, of Springville.
Witnesses told the highway patrol that the Pontiac Grand Am was speeding and weaving through traffic as it proceeded north on Interstate 15, said UHP Sgt. Mary Kaye Lucas. About 3:10 p.m., the driver took exit 244 then tried to return to the roadway, according to a UHP news release.
The vehicle rolled and Manzo and Rasmussen, who were not wearing seat belts, were thrown from the vehicle and killed, Lucas said. A 17-year-old boy, who was restrained in the backseat, suffered only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, the sergeant said.
