Jim Seals. Dash Crofts. Add a mandolin, a guitar and a toy piano and you have northern Utah's forecast heading into the latter days of the work week.

After highs near 90 degrees on Wednesday under sunny to party cloudy skies, Thursday's meteorological score called for a "Summer Breeze" kind of forecast with daytime highs cooling into the mid-70s, caressed by zephyrs in the 10-20 mph range.

Alas, probably no jasmine blowing through your mind, but there will be every reason to feel fine.

In southern Utah, milder weather is what denizens of the region call high temperatures in the mid-90s during early September — and that's exactly what Utah's Dixie expected on a sunny-to-partly-cloudy Thursday. Wednesday's forecast was nearly identical, except for temperatures 2-3 degrees warmer.

The Utah Division of Air Quality forecast "green," or healthy conditions for most of the state through Friday, with the exception of Utah County, which was given a "yellow," or compromised grade for Thursday and "green" for Friday.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website noted that grass, chenopods and ragweed were "high," while sagebrush was "moderate" on its pollen index as of Wednesday.
