One person died late Tuesday morning after a three-vehicle crash in the Cache County town of Hyde Park.

Dav Frew, an 82-year-old man from Preston, Idaho, was killed in the accident, which happened just before noon in the area of 4040 N. Main Street.

According to North Park police officials, Frew was driving his 1991 blue Mazda pickup and was trying to make a left-hand turn in the intersection, attempting to head north on US 91.

A 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving south on the highway when the driver collided with Frew's truck, which had pulled out in front of him.

Officials said Tuesday afternoon that the driver of the Sierra had no time to avoid the collision or stop, and struck Frew's driver side door. A third vehicle, a 2004 Honda Civic, was hit by debris from the collision.

Passersby attempted to perform CPR on Frew, but he was pronounced dead shortly after noon after arriving at the Cache Valley Hospital. The driver of the Sierra was taken to a local hospital with neck pain.
