Draper • About 40 male inmates in the Con-Quest substance abuse program participated Thursday in the first 5K race at the Utah State Prison.
They ran 16 laps around the fenced jogging track made muddy from recent rain.
The 5K was a first for most of the inmates, who have been training in anticipation of the race as part of the prison’s Addict II Athlete program.
