Utah prison inmates run 5K race

(Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune) 43 male inmates in the Con-Quest substance abuse program run in the first 5K race at the Utah State Prison Thursday August 28. They ran 16 laps around the fenced in jogging track made muddy from recent rain. The 5K was a first for most inmates, who have been training in anticipation of the race and in line with the prison's Addict II Athlete program.

Draper • About 40 male inmates in the Con-Quest substance abuse program participated Thursday in the first 5K race at the Utah State Prison.

They ran 16 laps around the fenced jogging track made muddy from recent rain.

The 5K was a first for most of the inmates, who have been training in anticipation of the race as part of the prison’s Addict II Athlete program.
