Two men stabbed in altercation in Magna

Three suspects have been arrested in the stabbings of two men late Friday in front of a Magna home and a fourth suspect is being sought, the Unified Police Department said.

The victims were taken to a hospital, where one of them, a 30-year-old, was in critical condition and the other man, 28, was in serious condition. The two are stable and improving, the UPD said.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the altercation began when the victims pulled into the driveway of a home near 3200 South and 7700 West and saw multiple people in the front yard. The two victims asked the people why they were there, which led to an argument that escalated to a physical fight and the stabbings, Hoyal said.

He said officers from the UPD and the West Valley City Police Department responded to a 11:46 p.m. call and, with the help of a K-9 unit, found suspects within an hour hiding in a backyard about a block from the crime scene.

The suspects are Jeremy Crowther, 23; Derrek Andrews, 23; and a 16-year-old female whose identity was not released because she is a minor. The three were booked into jail on two counts of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony.

UPD later identified the fourth suspect as Cody Johnson, 26.
