An eastern Utah man who died after falling from the roof of a moving vehicle has been identified as 24-year-old Anton Langley of Myton.
The Duchesne County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that Langley was pronounced dead on Saturday, shortly after he apparently crawled out a backseat window and onto the roof of a Jeep Cherokee being driven by Braxton Argyle, 28, of Vernal.
Argyle told deputies when he saw Langley fall, about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, he stopped near the intersection of 8000 S. 2995 West, called 911 and tried to help his friend until paramedics arrived.
Langley later died at Uintah Basin Medical Center.
Argyle was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The death remained under investigation with detectives particularly trying to determine what prompted Langley to climb into the roof of the Jeep.
