Four people suffered minor injuries after a FrontRunner train crashed into a vehicle Friday afternoon.
The accident happened near 300 East and Center Street in North Salt Lake, according to South Davis Metro Fire officials. Fire crews quickly doused a small fire sparked after the accident.
Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said the train struck a Union Pacific automobile. It was not immediately known whether the injured were in the train or the vehicle that was struck.
As of 1:30 p.m., Center Street was closed as officials cleared the scene. Passengers on the disabled FrontRunner train involved in the accident were bused to the nearby Woods Cross Station, according to UTA officials. Other Frontrunner travelers heading north were also bused to the Woods Cross Station.
