South Salt Lake • A shooting that occurred in South Salt Lake Thursday night, left one male in critical condition.

The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. and police said it appeared there was an altercation between three people in a truck and two residents in a home near 200 E. Rigdon Street (3790 South). Police did not know the nature of the dispute. The altercation was both physical and verbal, and shots erupted.

Three or four people were detained, and police were working on search warrants for a home in the area.

Police did not know how many times the male had been shot or where the man was when he was shot. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
