The Utah Highway Patrol continued Monday trying to determine the identity a man killed in weekend crash on Interstate 80 near East Canyon.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said identification of the victim was proving difficult because troopers had learned the Nissan car he was driving had been reported stolen.

However, troopers did suspect that drugs or alcohol, along with excessive speed, played roles in the Sunday crash.

The westbound vehicle ran off the highway to the right, striking a parked and unoccupied Ford pickup truck and trailer.

The driver of the Nissan was not wearing a seatbelt.
