Mandaree, N.D. • The North Dakota Highway Patrol identified the two men who were killed Friday after their vehicle struck a cow that was wandering on a road in western North Dakota.

The Patrol says the victims were Kaleb Newel Steed, 27, of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Jake Alexander Holm, 19, of St. George.

The patrol says the men's vehicle entered a ditch and rolled several times after striking the black cow Friday night.

Authorities say Holm was wearing a seat belt and Steed was not. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
