The Syracuse teenager who had been run over in her driveway has died.

Marli Hamblin's family confirmed Sunday afternoon that she had died. Lawni Hamblin, her cousin, confirmed that a fundraiser to support the family is still going. The family has set up the Marli Hamblin Charitable account at America First Credit Union for donations.

Hamblin was sunbathing in her driveway near 2700 S. 3000 West about noon Friday when a relative backed a pickup truck over her. The relative did not know she was there, said Syracuse police Officer Erin Behm.

She was flown to a hospital in critical condition.

Family members told KUTV-Ch. 2 that Marli Hamblin was getting ready to start school at Syracuse High and had just made the cheerleading squad.

Syracuse police said Saturday that no charges will be filed against the driver of the pickup.

"This is a very tragic accident and our thoughts and prayers are with the girl and her family," the Syracuse Police Department said in a statement released Saturday.
