A West Valley City woman is charged with automobile homicide in a fatal crash in May in South Salt Lake.

In charges filed Monday, police wrote that Tiffany Edro Falls, 24, had a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit when she was driving a Chevy Malibu on May 10 near 3791 S. 700 West. Falls allegedly was driving north when she crossed into the southbound lanes. The Malibu collided head-on with a southbound Dodge Durango.

Falls' passenger, Norma Black, 31, died from injuries she suffered in the crash, investigators wrote. A passenger in the Durango suffered neck and back pain, police wrote.

Falls was an alcohol-restricted driver from a previous case and was required to drive with an ignition-interlock mechanism, police wrote.

Falls was charged with second-degree felony automobile homicide, driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without an ignition-interlock system.
