Dattage was driving an Acura north on U.S. Highway 89 when it drifted into the southbound lane at 8:30 a.m. just south of the Franklin Basin turnoff near Logan, according to a UHP report. The driver of a Ford F-350 that was pulling a boat in the southbound lane tried to move to avoid a collision but was hit, the report says.

The Ford’s driver, 57-year-old Bruce Wilson, of Hooper, was taken by helicopter in serious condition from the scene.

Two of Wilson’s passengers, Morgan Wright, 14, and Ethan Fowers, 12 — also both of Hooper — were transported by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital.

Investigators do not know why the Acura drifted into the southbound lane.
