A mud and rock slide closed Little Cottonwood Canyon for more than an hour on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

The canyon was closed at about 2 p.m., and reopened by about 3:10 p.m., UDOT said.

But motorists should expect further delays until about 5 p.m. as crews initiate intermittent closures to finish cleaning up, UDOT said.
