A Taylorsville man has died of injuries sustained in a weekend rollover on Interstate 84, just north of the Utah-Idaho state line.

Idaho State Police confirmed Monday that Mark Beaslin, 60, was fatally injured when the van he was sleeping in rolled near mile post 273 about 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

Kenneth Brooks, 17, of Magna, was driving eastbound when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal, overcorrected and ended up rolling the van into the freeway's median.

Beaslin, unrestrained and asleep in the cargo area of the van at the time, was ejected. He later died at Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton.

Brooks, who was wearing a seatbelt, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remained under investigation, ISP said.
