A 12-year-old girl was injured this week when she was struck by a boat propeller on Lake Powell.

The girl, from Israel, was injured after she was ejected from the back of a moving powerboat while holding an inflatable inner tube on Wednesday, according to a news release from the National Park Service.

The boat's propeller slashed her lower leg, the release states.

National Park Service medical crews, Coconino County (Ariz.) sheriff's deputies and personnel from Classic Aviation responded to the Wahweap main launch ramp to help the girl; she was later flown to Flagstaff (Ariz.) Medical Center for additional care, the release states.
