Firefighters rushed to the scene of a two-alarm blaze at a Murray industrial park late Friday morning. No injuries were y reported.
Public safety dispatchers confirmed that the fire was reported at 8:10 a.m. at 4717 S. 500 West, and that both Murray and Unified Fire Authority units responded.
The fire was out by 10 a.m. with crews working to douse any hot spots or flareups.
Deputy Murray Fire Marshal Pat Killian said the blaze was blamed on grinding work being done outside a metal fabrication business. Sparks from the work settled into nearby wooden pallets.
Workers initially tried to put out the flames, which sent thick black smoke into the air, with fire extinguishers and water hoses, Killian said.
