Armed man who confronted neighbor killed

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a shooting on Thursday in Leeds that left one man dead.

Deputies were dispatched to Leeds, about 15 miles north of St. George, at 8:17 p.m. on a report of shots fired, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

It said a man armed with a gun reportedly confronted a neighbor and was shot by the neighbor, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives were interviewing witnesses late Thursday.
