The Utah Red Cross is assisting an Ogden family of eight that was left homeless by a Tuesday night fire.
No one was injured in the 8:27 p.m. blaze at the home at 2818 Adams Avenue, though one of the family’s three pet dogs had to be treated with oxygen at the scene, Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Eric Bauman said.
The fire is believed to have begun in the residence’s laundry room, though the cause remained under investigation on Wednesday.
The home was deemed uninhabitable for now, having sustained damage estimated at $55,000.
Red Cross officials said they were helping the family — two adults and six children — with housing, food and clothing needs.
