A man who suffers from dementia and is new to Salt Lake City has disappeared and is considered vulnerable.

Semisi Taufa, 80, drove his pickup away from his home near 1300 West Illinois Ave. (1100 South) about 9 a.m. Tuesday and hasn't been seen since then. Family reported him missing about 3:15 p.m.

Taufa recently moved to Utah and is not familiar with Salt Lake City. He suffers from spells of confusion; about a year ago, he drove until he ran out of gas and was helped by police.

Taufa is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 310 pounds. He is Tongan and drives a black Dodge pickup with Arizona plates BBG9146.
