An Iron County woman died Monday while driving to get her mail. Carol Sager, 48, left her home Monday to check her community mailbox a few miles from her home in Beryl, deputies wrote in a statement. She did not return, and family members and sheriff's deputies searched for her throughout the night.

A relative found her car early Tuesday in a sagebrush field, deputies wrote. It had left the dirt road and rolled several times; Sager was not wearing a safety belt and was thrown from the car, deputies wrote. She died at the scene.

"At this time it doesn't appear alcohol or drugs were factor in this incident," deputies wrote. "However the crash is still being investigated."
