Two small earthquakes Saturday evening rattled Sanpete County.

A preliminary report placed a 4.2-magnitude earthquake's epicenter about 4 miles southeast of Spring City, according to the University of Utah seismograph stations. The quake was about 3 miles below the surface, according to a seismologists' report.

Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox tweeted that he felt the quake in Fairview about 7 p.m. Someone else, replying to Cox's tweet, reported feeling it in Ephraim, too.

The United States Geological Survey logged a second 3.0-magnitude earthquake about an hour later, near Mount Pleasant.

County dispatchers had not received any reports of damage or injuries from the quakes.
