Police say a man fired a gun into a Magna McDonald’s through its drive-thru window during an attempted robbery.

About 5:30 p.m., the man was in the drive-thru of the McDonald’s at 3540 S. 8400 West and tried to rob the employee at the window, said Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen.

After the employee ran away from the window, the man fired a round through the glass, hitting the freezer, Hansen said. No one was hurt, Hansen added.

Police are working on obtaining the security camera footage, Hansen said.

The suspect vehicle is a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with the license plate 553PJW, reported stolen out of West Valley City, according to the UPD. The Sonata possibly has a dent in the front bumper area, UPD added.
