The switch caused the train’s competing parts to came to a sudden halt in the intersection about 10:40 a.m.

"We’re investigating to find out why that car [switched]," said Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron.

One passenger complained of leg pain and was being treated on scene, Barron said.

By 5 p.m., the tracks in the area were clear and trains were running normally with some residual delays, especially the Green Line, according to UTA.
