Apparently a TRAX train had a mind of its own.

A blue line train was turning south onto 400 West from South Temple in Salt Lake City on Thursday morning when the third car in the train, for some reason, switched to the northbound tracks.

The switch caused the train's competing parts to came to a sudden halt in the intersection about 10:40 a.m.

"We're investigating to find out why that car [switched]," said Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron.

One passenger complained of leg pain and was being treated on scene, Barron said.

By 5 p.m., the tracks in the area were clear and trains were running normally with some residual delays, especially the Green Line, according to UTA.
