The pilot spotted a grassy field near 870 S. 400 West in Hurricane and landed safely at 8:26 a.m., causing minimal damage to the plane and with no reported injuries to the passengers, according to the release.

"It is very fortunate the pilot was able to use his experience and find a location to land the plane safely," the release adds.

Besides the police, Hurricane Fire and Rescue and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
