A Murray woman was hospitalized with second-degree burns to her legs after fire broke out in her condominium unit.

Murray Deputy Fire Marshal Pat Killian said the blaze started in a bedroom of the unit, located in the Creekside Condominiums complex near 5300 South and 400 East, about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters quickly attacked and extinguished the flames, containing them to the bedroom.

The woman's two young children were the subjects of a frantic search early on, but firefighters located them safe and sound with a neighbor.

Damages were estimated at around $15,000. The family, which includes a father who was away at the time of the fire, was put up in a motel pending repairs, Killian said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
